RemoteRise is a content website. We collect as little personal data as we can practically get away with, and we never sell what we collect. This page explains, in normal English, what gets collected, why, and how to control it. If you'd prefer the formal legal version, write to us via the contact page and we'll send it.
What we collect
Server logs
Like every website on the internet, our hosting provider records standard server logs: the IP address you connect from, the URL you requested, your browser's user-agent string, the response status, and a timestamp. We use these logs only to debug errors and detect abuse. They are rotated and deleted on a 30-day cycle.
Contact form submissions
If you send a message through our contact form, we collect the name, email, topic, and message body you provide. We use this information solely to reply to you. We do not subscribe you to any mailing list, do not sell your email, and do not retain your message after the conversation has been resolved (typically within 90 days).
Job application messages
If you submit an application through a listing's contact form, your message is forwarded to the employer using the public contact details they have published. RemoteRise does not retain a long-term copy of your application content. We log only that an application was sent, for spam-prevention purposes.
Cookies and analytics
RemoteRise uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep the site working (for example, to remember if you've dismissed a notice). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising profiling cookies. We use privacy-respecting aggregate analytics (request counts, page popularity) that do not identify individual visitors.
Advertising
The placeholder slots on the site labeled "ADSENSE" are reserved for future display advertising. When live, those ads may set their own cookies subject to the ad provider's privacy policy, which we will link to from this page. Until then, no advertising tracking is active.
What we don't collect
- Account data — there are no user accounts on RemoteRise.
- Payment information — RemoteRise is free, so there is nothing to charge.
- Behavioral profiles for advertising targeting.
- Sensitive personal information (race, religion, political affiliation, health status, etc.).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The simplest way to exercise these rights is to email us via the contact page. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days. We do not charge any fee for these requests, and we do not retaliate against people who make them.
Children
RemoteRise is intended for adults seeking remote work. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the site, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and post a brief notice on the homepage for at least 14 days. Substantive changes will not apply retroactively to information collected before the change.
